3 Steps That Spring You Forward

Preparing for change can often be a daunting task. It can be difficult to motivate ourselves to begin the preparation process and it can also be difficult for us to determine the sequence of steps we must take to be sufficiently prepared for change.

The upcoming new season is an excellent opportunity for you to revisit the goals you set for yourself in January. Are you still on tract to meet those goals? Are the goals still a realistic expectation of your abilities? Do any of your goals need to be revised, increased, or discarded?

As we prepare to welcome warmer temperatures, lighter moods, and longer days, what will accompany you into the new season? Before you answer, I offer three steps that you can take today to begin clearing your pathway toward achieving your 2017 goals:

1) Evaluate your relationships. Life is about relationships. Regardless of how self-reliant we may feel, we need the support of others to accomplish many of our personal goals. Are the people in your life contributing to your goals? If not, are they blocking your achievement? A relationship does not need to be a significant one to block your progress. So make sure to include the various types of people you relate to regularly as part of your evaluation.

2) Clear out your personal space. Is your home full of clutter? Our physical environment impacts on our moods and motivation. If your home feels cluttered and unkept, it cannot serve as a sanctuary for rest, recovery, and generation of new ideas. Begin taking small steps towards making at least one room in your home clutter free!

3) Drink more water. Yes, water! The average human body is 50-65% water. Hydration is a key component of the vessel through which we will implement our goals. Begin drinking at least one full bottle of water within a hour of waking up and one full bottle of water an hour before going to bed. This small additional intake of water will help power your body through the spring season!
